Description
Cooltech Industries Motorised Volume Control Damper primary role is to regulate airflow within HVAC systems and is constructed from high-quality aluminium extrusion which makes it both lightweight and durable.
The damper’s blades are fully contained within the frame, which simplifies installation and ensures a secure fit. The linkage is positioned out of the air stream and concealed within the frame to reduce turbulence and improve overall airflow efficiency. The bearings are two-piece moulded synthetic components pressed into the frame, ensuring smooth and reliable operation. The hexagonal cast alloy axles provide positive locking, contributing to the damper’s long-term stability and performance.
The drive shaft is a ½” hexagonal shaft made from plated mild steel, compatible with a wide range of actuators regardless of torque capabilities, enhancing the damper’s adaptability across different system configurations. This motorised damper also includes optional blade tip seals and side seals designed to minimise air leakage when fully closed.
To facilitate easy installation, the damper is equipped with four pre-punched oval mounting holes in each corner of the frame, making it adaptable to all types of TDF duct flanges. The drive shaft is typically positioned outside the frame for easy access, but it can also be internally located within a boxed-off section inside the outer frame. This internal positioning is particularly useful when the damper is installed within a wall penetration, where standard shaft access might be difficult.
The Cooltech Industries Motorised Volume Control Damper is well-suited for a wide range of HVAC applications, including commercial buildings and industrial environments. Its robust construction ensures reliable and efficient airflow management, making it an essential component for maintaining optimal system performance.
